The main and most expressive feature of the house in Campos do Jordao from the architectural bureau Mareines Arquitetura is a complex roof in the form of parts of a cedar cone. The building itself symbolizes the fruit of the cedar, which is one of the iconic of this area.
The task of the architects was to create a modern house in the mountains and forests, not like traditional European-style housing, but at the same time to integrate the object as much as possible into the natural surrounding landscape. This was achieved thanks to the unique shape of the building and the complex roof, which has become its main architectural element.
UNIQUE ARCHITECTURE – WHAT IS HIDDEN FOR COMPLEX ROOF AND FACADE
Spacious cottage area of 1300 sqm built in the shape of an oval pine nut and is made with environmentally friendly materials. Due to this, the house harmoniously blended with the natural environment of the slope near São Paulo.
Modern elite housing in this area is built similar to alpine houses, European cottages in the styles of minimalism and high-tech. The presented mansion has become a unique architectural object. Unlike a traditional house, it is devoid of straightforwardness, and all forms are smooth and rounded. From the outside, it has no angles, due to which it merges even more into nature, repeating its contours.
Exclusive solution here turned out to be the panoramic rounded glazing. Due to him, the house received a special design, and the inside view has an increased viewing angle. The elliptical shape of the building seems to weave it into the environment, making it part of wildlife.
Smooth lines are visible in the interior. Architects abandoned sharp corners as much as possible, and even replaced the steps with ramps and ramps. Sinuousness and fluidity emphasize the atmosphere of naturalness and peace. Smooth and curved lines can be traced not only in the house itself, but also in the landscape design of the house plot.
Complicated roof covers the house on the same principle as the bump covers the grain. Its form is created in such a way as to provide a pleasant microclimate in the house, closing it from the hot day sun, creating a circulation of air flows. Under the roof there is also a summer recreation area – an open terrace.
FOCUS ON LUXURY AND COMFORT
The house was created for a comfortable stay and relaxation at the highest level. To do this, it has a SPA with a swimming pool, sauna, lounge areas. The house has been designed four suites, each of which has a panoramic view from the windows to the area with coniferous forests, mountains. Some of the windows are curved and have a viewing angle of more than 180 degrees.
The internal space of social zones is made in several levels and is divided into independent zones. In one you can swim in the pool in front of the panoramic window, in the other there is the opportunity to relax, have an event, a party, the third is an ideal place for a romantic pastime – it looks like a private observation deck. A space has also been allocated for business meetings and conferences.
One of the central elements of the social part of the house is the fireplace, the chimney from which is styled as a column – against the background of a curved panoramic window, this is the main object of the living room. There are no traditional corridors. Instead, the space has smooth widened and narrowed walkways that divide the functional areas, leading to each room and other rooms.
Creating a house as close to nature as possible, one of the main tasks was to use only natural building materials. The integrity of the project is emphasized by the fact that it is implemented in wood, stone, brick and glass. There is some metal. These materials became the main both in the construction of walls and finishes, and in the construction of complex roofs.
Environmentally friendly materials affected not only the home security, but also on comfort. They breathe, maintain optimal temperature and humidity in the house, due to which a pleasant microclimate is preserved here. Properly thought-out glazing provides excellent species characteristics and fairly high-quality natural ventilation – clean air is preserved in the house.
A complex roof made of natural materials is an important functional component to maintain a pleasant microclimate. It does not close views from panoramic windows, but at the same time creates a shadow over them. For this, the roof has special bends and a thoughtful shape.
Selected materials create in the house a pleasant color scheme and the building fits well into the surrounding landscape. The facade and interior of the house are dominated by soft woody, natural tones. The walls, floor and ceiling inside the house are finished with valuable wood. This makes the atmosphere sound, comfortable and expensive. In general terms, the house looks exactly like a huge pine nut.
