UNUSUAL RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS – CONCEPTUAL DESIGN OF A FAMILY MANSION

ACME Architectural Bureau introduced conceptual unusual residential buildings in the form of towers with a conical top. An object with modern aesthetics stands out clearly against the backdrop of wildlife. Architects came to an original decision – to sheathe the facades of buildings with tiles stylized as tiles.

Due to the modern implementation of the project, this traditional material was interpreted under the current realities, fashion and architectural trends.

The phrase “within four walls” does not exactly refer to this project. All the main rooms of the house are round. This made it possible to realize non-standard ideas – for example, rounded stairs. To further emphasize the smoothness of forms without corners, the passages between the rooms were made arched.

Almost all furniture is also characterized by smooth lines, bends and streamline. The contrast in the context of the forms was made with the help of windows, which received a traditional rectangular design.

To maximize the rational use of the round space, partly used rounded designer furniture. Countertops are also made in a rounded shape. The selected trend without corners can also be seen in details – lamps in the form of balls, round ottomans.

The house consists of four towers, united by a common structure between them. Each of the towers provides private living spaces – bedrooms, cabinets, children’s and guest rooms. One of them also has a kitchen. All of them converge to a single central structure, in which the main social space is located – the living room. From here, exits to the upper levels are made.

It seems that the bedrooms are located in different buildings. Due to the original configuration of the house from each private room, it turned out to make a review at once in several directions. The windows on the upper floors are located at an angle to the sky – this affects the species characteristics and high-quality insolation in the rooms.

The peculiarity of the bedrooms is that each of them occupies two levels at once. This made it possible to create a separate space for more active pastime and a relaxing holiday. For example, in the nursery, the lower level is reserved for the play area, and the upper one is for the place to sleep. In the owners’ bedroom, the lower zone is more suitable for hanging out in front of the TV, and the upper one is adapted for an intimate, romantic atmosphere.

Thus, ACME’s unusual residential buildings are original towering housing in which tradition and fashionable, trendy solutions are closely intertwined. The architects managed to make the object stylish and interesting almost without compromising the functionality and practicality of the space.

UNUSUAL SHAPE HOUSES – 450 M² OF TRANSFORMATION OF GEOMETRIC SHAPES INTO A COMFORTABLE LIVING SPACE

The original, comfortable and cozy building, which fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape, is a house of unusual shape. This building complex, located in the tourist Vietnamese province of Kam Thanh, is the embodiment of the dream of any architect.

Innovative design solutions are drawn from the natural background, rich in unique flora and fauna, and the cultural heritage of previous generations, which gave impetus to the development of modern architectural forms. The spatial design of the building repeats the geometric configuration of the ancient dwellings of local residents.

The gallery, with its compactness, is distinguished by visual openness due to the large amount of light, high ceilings, a light palette and, albeit small, but panoramic glazing at the entrance. The exhibition area is visually separated from the living space, which is located on the podium.

Given the decency and punctuality of the Japanese, it is clear here – visitors will not encroach on going beyond the exhibition hall – private space remains cut off for guests. The living area is made quite comfortable due to a comfortable, homely environment, the use of a warm, pastel palette.

An unusual space is created by the intersection of a sloping roof, replacing a wall on one side, and a diagonal exhibition partition – an amazing play of space from low to high and from wide to narrow. This model promotes creative thinking – at first it seems that the project is not suitable for everyday life, but in practice the opposite has been proved.

The space of a very unusual house is beaten as if it consists of three separate elements – an exhibition gallery, a private living area at the bottom and a kitchen-living room at the top. Together, all three figures form a self-contained object, which, when compact, strikes with functionality. Given the lifestyle of the Japanese, it can be argued that this building is quite spacious for the family.

WHAT COULD BE AN UNUSUAL HOME DESIGN? EVALUATING KOMOREBI’S PLANS AND PROJECT IN CHILE
